Scope of Works:

This project was part of an extensive programme of improvements to airports located throughout the Pacific Islands. Delivered concurrently with the Tongatapu airport project, it demanded skills in logistics and coordination.

In total, we delivered:

  • Pre-coat 1200m3 of sealing chip on site
  • Heating of 170 tonnes of containerised bitumen
  • Seal enrichment coats to 55,000m2 of runway and taxiway
  • Two-coat chipseal for 54,000m2 of regional airport runway and taxiway
  • Set out and marking and remarking of all runway paint marks.

As with all projects undertaken by JML under the PAIP, Vava’u airport improvements were completed with zero harm, on time and within budget, to fully meet the quality standards specified by the contract.
